  • Achieve safe and appropriate local anaesthetic for ophthalmic procedures. 
  • Perform a basic forced duction test as part of a clinical assessment to identify a mechanical squint and understand the limitations of the test. 
  • Perform surgery on the extraocular muscles including identifying the relevant muscle, safely detaching it and safely and effectively suturing it to the sclera.  
  • Develop new skills in a supervised simulated environment.
